my brand reviews:

I have always loved the creativity of caboodles!  i remember the bright colorful plastic style train cases from the 90's!!!  I remember always wanting one, but we didn't really have money like that, and I didn't have hustling techniques at that time - i was in the 4th grade.

in my pre-grown woman days, Conair hair appliances seemed to be the most cost effective, falling within my minimum wage budget (barely).  My purpose for purchasing a conair brand flat iron, was to tame my kinky frizzy curls to a relaxed "bone-straight" "indian-hair" type of flair, but for some reason, the wack aluminum infused plates on these devices simply did not have what it takes to tame my hair because it certainly remained frizzy.  THANK YOU LORD FOR CERAMIC IRONS!!!  (see my Hot Tools and J'Ilbere reviews)

Cotton - if it wasn't for cotton, we would all be deprived.  t-shirts, panties, sanitary napkins, q-tips, cotton balls (nails), Swisspers.  I just started using swisspers and they are awesome!  the round ones have exfoliating "bumps" on them... ( i will try to find a more appealing word for that LOL)

Dove -I have not had the pleasure (or desire) to use any of the Dove products except for the deoderant!  i do not remember the first time i used it, but I do know this product is the first product that prevented a foul odor on me from sweating.  maybe the odor wasnt as bad as i thought, since I have never had any complaints... however, if i sweat, you can't smell must LOL

e.l.f. - OMG whoever created this cosmetics line is friggin GENIUS!  wow.  this stuff is super affordable, yet not so drab that you feel like an old ninny with the boring traditional colors that the standard drug store cosmetics companies have produced for YEARS.  I always wanted to wear make-up, but got so disappointed at how the eyeshadow color selections turned out on my face.  so i have gotten SOOOOO excited lately about the newer bright pastel and rainbowish colors that the cult make-up companies are coming out with.

Gillette - even though they test their products on animals, i feel this is the top of the line best quality for shaving legs.  I have so hated how the cost of the refill blades has gradually increased over the years.  I wonder if they have a chart showing the increase SMH.  This product just recently changed to be called "Venus" within the last 3-5 years.  I never wanted to transition from the razor I previously used, but some companies just do away with certain products.

Hot Tools - the was my very first brand of ceramic hair tool!  OMG I ordered it on eBay. it ended up being about $50 but it was well worth it.  i said goodbye to conair forever - LOL.  it was a 2.5 inch wide iron since my hair was long.  I ended up goin thru an emotional crisis and i cut off all of my hair so i gave it to my mixed cousin, who's hair texture is almost identical to mine, but for some reason she feels that she has to apply hair grease to her hair and therefore when she used it, it did not provide the same effect... i stopped using grease on my hair about 13 years ago, when i realized all it did was make my hair look dirty.

J'ilbere de Paris - after getting a ceramic flat iron, and seeing the success of straight hair acheivement, i thought it would be a good idea to invest in a ceramic curling iron, and I am so happy I did.  My hair holds the heat from this device so much better than the aluminum infused hair appliances.  If I ever had to use conair again, i would feel like it was a downgrade.  It just does not provide the same result!

Jergen's - their lotion actually has great quality. its what some may count as expensive, but it is well worth it honey. I must admit though, I do prefer Palmer's Cocoa Butter over Jergen's, just because Palmer's scent is soooooo soothing to the respiratory senses LMBO!

Maybelline - right now this is my absolute favorite brand for mascara... Stilletto!  this stuff really does extend and tame my lashes.  I think you are not a TRUE make-up patron, unless you have used the most classic and most common mascara by Maybelline, Great Lash Mascara.  I remember seeing this the very first time I ever looked in my mother's make-up drawer, and it is still in rotation at your local drug store cosmetics department.  If that doesnt scream reliable, I don't know what does.  Rest assured, you could never go wrong with this brand of mascara!

Neutrogena -I cannot comment on every Neutrogena product, but I have used their facial cleanser line for a couple of years now, and this is the first product that effectively cleanses my face without irritating my skin.  I tried using some of the liquid foundation (i will get the exact series later) but i tanned after buying it, so it ended up being lighter than me LOL.  So I haven't really used it lately, i may create a giveaway or something or sell it because I think i may be transitioning to mineral foundation until cold weather season again.

Nivea - before I fell in love with Palmer's Cocoa Butter,  I tried Nivea Creme, the original skin moisturizing creme.  I really loved it because it REALLY did sooth and smooth my hands.....my only peeve is that it is extremely greasy/oily.  So you must use it in moderation, yet put up with the greasy feeling if you really want the soft/supple effect .

N.Y.X. - Kudos.  I love this brand so far.  some of the products I use from this line are:  oil blotting sheets,  eyeshadow primer, and i bought a 36 piece pearl pigment eyeshadow in so many beautiful popping colors off of ebay for $12!!!  who needs M.A.C. when you have reasonable prices like that?  shoot, it's a recession... N.Y.X., you have a faithful customer.  :)

Palmer's Cocoa Butter - this is by far THEE best skin moisturizer / lotion I have ever used in my life.  it is so soothing and softening.  Not to mention it has such a pleasant aroma/scent.

Pantene - other than John Freida's Frizz Ease brand, this hair care line is the best for my hair that I have found so far!.  Hair Tip:  after shampooing my hair, I then apply a semi-generous amount of conditioner, being sure to cover as much of my hair as possible, and I leave it in for a minimum of 5 minutes.  I have noticed a great reduction in frizz by doing so, as I have naturally curly hair!

Revlon - this is not a brand that I frequent.  I will add more about this at a later time!

Rimmel - This brand intrigues me.  I have only purchased 3 products from this brand in my lifetime.  #1 was some mascara. It may be a discontinued product at this point as it was several years ago, however, the brush design made perfect sense, and I used this to the very last pump! LOL #2 earlier this year, I realized the common sense makeup theology about PRIMING foundation!  So I broke down and bought some Fix & Perfect Foundation Primer.  I'm not 100% sure of the difference, but I just wanted to be more thorough with my application steps, to ensure lasting coverage!  :)  and last and most recently, I purchased some of their lip liner in a pastel pink. ( I will update later ) .  I do love this brand and I am certain I will continue using the items within the brand that are most suitable for my makeup needs!

Sally Hansen - aaaah!  Another veteran brand!  This line is genius!

Soap & Glory - I have always wanted to try this brand, but I only see it at Target and I rarely shop there. Anyway....it's pricey, needless to say.  Although I broke down and recently bought some Glow Getter Sun Powder Spray.  Anyhoo, I know this is kinda lame, but...I only wanted to try this brand because the design on the containers are pretty LOL.  Nah but really, its very retro.  I haven't had a chance to use the spray yet, but when I do, I will be sure to post my results.

Suave - I call this the emergency brand.  In my experience, this is one of those choices that lead to minimal results.  I think if you are able to get better quality brands to use regulary, and have this one on hand for guests, or for travel, etc.  I don't keep much of this around.  Actually I have a funny story about Suave. But I will get to that another time!
